Burung Indonesia was established on 15 July 2002, as an independent
Indonesian non-government organisation, after working for 10 years as the
program office of BirdLife International in Indonesia. Burung Indonesia
provides opportunities for the public to take practical action to conserve
birds and their habitats in Indonesia.
Project Objective
The project is located in Mbeliling forest area, District of Manggarai
Barat, East Nusa Tenggara. The objective of the project is to improve
sustainable livelihoods of local communities through participatory forest
management.
We are building a solid and skilful team for the project and have immediate
vacancies for the following key positions (based in the project site):
1. Team Leader
University degree (minimum S1) in biodiversity conservation, environmental
management, social, or related discipline; At least 7 years relevant working
experience; Familiar with Indonesian policy on forest management,
conservation and collaborative management; Working knowledge of strategic
planning processes; Proposal development and community participation skills;
Experience in project reporting and donor relations.
2. Communication & Awareness Officer
University degree (minimum S1) in communication, education or similar
skills; At least 5 years of relevant working experience; Working knowledge
in designing and analysing data and survey questionnaires.
3. Village Facilitator (10 position)
High school graduate; At least 5 years of relevant experience; Good
facilitator; Familiar with Participatory Rural Appraisal and other
participatory methods; Able to write reports. Self-motivated, with ability
to work with limited supervision, strong commitment to nature conservation;
Previous experience working at remote locations will be an advantage.
4. Ecotourism Development Officer
University degree (minimum S1) in tourism or related discipline; At least 5
years of relevant working experience; Experience working with entrepreneur
groups, community groups, government bureaucracies; Experience developing
eco-tourism, Good spoken and written English will be an advantage, Familiar
with eco-tourism business, and Indonesian financial policy; Previous
experience working at remote locations will be an advantage.
5. Ecotourism Facilitator
University degree (S1/D3) in tourism or related discipline; Experience
working in eco-tourism; Spoken and written English will be an advantage;
Previous experience working at remote locations will be an advantage.
6. Driver
High school degree; Driving license (SIM A) holder; Honest, willing to learn
and commit to nature conservation.
All position will be based in Flores, NTT.
